Frequently asked questions
Does this require an internet connection?
No. Axix Surveillance is fully on-premise. All AI processing, storage, and alerts happen on your local network. Camera streams and biometric data never leave your premises.
Do we need a GPU?
No. The system uses CPU-optimized AI processing. Runs on standard Intel i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen hardware. No dedicated graphics hardware, no cloud AI API, no additional hardware cost.
How many cameras can it handle?
Minimum hardware (4-core, 16 GB): ~5 cameras at 15–20 FPS. Recommended hardware (8+ core, 32 GB): 10+ cameras at 25–30 FPS.
What camera brands are supported?
Any camera with IP camera or HTTP stream. Tested with Dahua and Hikvision. Any standard IP camera camera works.
How accurate is face recognition?
Face-matching similarity search tuned for production environments. Accuracy depends on enrollment photo quality, lighting, and camera angle. System includes photo quality check during enrollment.
Can guards use their own smartphones?
Yes. mobile mobile app runs on Android and iOS. Guards configure server IP, log in with admin-created credentials. Alerts scoped to their assigned area and types.
Zone violations vs no-go intrusions — what's the difference?
No-go areas = absolute exclusion, anyone triggers alarm. Zones = access-controlled with whitelist — only unauthorized persons trigger violation. Both can run on same camera.
Can it track someone wearing a mask or facing away?
Yes. appearance analysis (body shape, clothing, movement) work when face isn't visible. System fuses appearance-based tracking (60%), clothing color (30%), and face (10%) for robust matching.
How long is history stored?
All records in local local database. Duration limited only by disk capacity. Plan 500 GB+ SSD for 10 cameras with violation and tracking images.
Can it integrate with existing HR or access control systems?
Optional integration with 360 FaceVision HR for payroll/attendance. standard APIs and webhook callbacks available for all alert types, check-ins, and zone violations.
